Casual Flow: Blossom
Greeting Loves!!!
So, who remembers the show Blossom from the early 90's? Aww man I know I am truly dating myself here but I used to absolutely love that show!!! Blossom's style was so eclectic. I'll be honest some of her fashion choices were a bit puzzling but I admired her confidence and fearlessness to be 100% comfortable with wearing what she wanted and what made her happy. She wasn't concerned with fitting in, who would give her crazy stares, or with what people had to say about her sense of style and I definitely learned from that. A HUGE part of inner beauty and style is CONFIDENCE. It is the key element. If you have that, you're well on your way to the makings of a stylish phenomenal woman. Anywho, I am clearly channeling my inner Blossom today; as this look definitely is free-spirited and fearless for me because y'all know how apprehensive I can be about crop tops....but SHE (as in me) is wearing one today and doing so with pride. :-)
The Styling:
For today's look I knew that I would be outdoors and partaking in a lot of walking. So, comfort and keeping cool was the motive, all while not sacrificing style. So, I paired this floral, side-split maxi skirt with a white crochet crop top and a cute pair of nude flats. Simple, no fuss, and still cute. I could've also paired this look with a colored tank or even a plain white tank. This maxi skirt can also be paired with a denim chambray for a more preppy casual look. A v-neck t-shirt would also look great too or you could be a little daring by pairing this skirt with a striped tee for some fun print mixing. Needless to say, there's so many different looks that can be created with this simple maxi skirt. Maxi skirts are another great item to own. I know for those of you who are short like me, it can be challenging finding the perfect length but they're definitely a very workable piece.
The Occasion:
Street festival, day concert, cookout, picnic, casual date with the boo or hangin' with the girls, etc.
