How to Wear a Midi Skirt for Short Women
Greetings To All!!
As most of you know I love a good midi skirt. Some people think a midi skirt/dress is the ultimate no no for us short women and that belief is so far from the truth. Us shorties can rock midi's too and do so flawlessly.
Here are some tips for wearing midi skirts for the vertically challenged(like myself).
- I typically prefer a more flared/a-line midi on a shorter frame vs. a straight midi, although a straight midi can work too if the entire skirt is fitted(i.e. a pencil skirt).
- Throw on a pair of sky high heels. It adds height to your frame, adding more proportion to your bottom half.
- Pair it with nude heels. Nude heels paired with any garment elongates the legs and gives the illusion of a longer silhouette.
- Pay close attention to the length. Anything below the upper to mid calf has the potential to make you look stumpy and shorter than you are.
- The obvious tip is to have the skirt hemmed to get the desired length for your frame.
- Pair it with a fitted top to slim and elongate the torso and provide some balance to the fuller bottom.
- A high-waisted midi is also a good option as it elongates the lower half of your body.
